Helmet Compatible Hood
Helmet Compatible jackets have hoods that are compatible for use with a helmet. The hood allows four-way movement so never inhibits your vision while reaching or stretching in awkward positions.
Pertex

Packs Small
This garment Packs down Small and comes with it's own stuff sack so it packs small to take up less room in your pack and can be easily accessed in case of a downpour.
Rip Stop
Rip Stop is a lightweight nylon fabric with interwoven rip-stop reinforcement threads in a cross hatch pattern. It's woven with a coarse, strong warp and filling yarns at intervals so that tears will not spread. Rip-stop is used in construction of hot air balloons and yacht sails but in this case very effectively on outdoor clothing.
YKK Zips
YKK Zips are used for their robustness and exceptional quality. YKK uses locking teeth to create a barrier between you and the elements.

This is a fantastic jacket. Highly recommended. The design and quality is excellent. The colours are gorgeous. I bought the blue and orange jacket for my teenage son, and now my husband intends to buy one also. Our only trouble is that the size runs smaller than usual. My 14-yr old usually wears an adult L, but I’ll have to change for an XL. Webtogs sold this for a good price, and we’ve used the PayPal guarantee to return the item that is too small.

The Montane jacket feels very comfortable and has a lot of features. However, I chose a Large size and is a bit tight at the back if I waer a windcheater so hopefully the warm is adequate. I have a large in a Columbia jacket and have plenty of room. Maybe someone can prepare an overlay of Size Large for the different brands to show how they compare. For example a body template of Columbia Large can be compared to Montane or Rab etc in terms of chest size or body length or sleeve length. Delivery was fast too.

Fantastic piece of kit to have in your pack all year round, so versatile, completely wind proof , warm but not to warm ,packs up so small in its own pocket. This is my second one of these had the orange colour previously to this for the last 10 years but found the light bright colours do mark very easily even with your sweat. This is the reason I've gone for the black this time round, can't moan too much after 10 years.

Excellent jacket. Wore it recently on a 3 day hike on the Biblimum Track in Western Australia with the temperatures reaching 3 degrees Celsius at night. Kept me warm and comfortable. Storage in its own pocket works very well.

This jacket fits me well. Its windproof and water resistant just fine. Easy to pack for quick dash when on move. It is practical and not too "technical".
