The Meindl Borneo 2 MFS Mens Hiking Boots are suited to taking on all kinds of terrain with their tough yet supple waxed Nubuck leather and leather-lined upper construction that also works to prevent moisture entering the footwell while also allowing any wick away from the inside. A DIGAfix lacing system keeps a secure fit for the foot while the Air-Active Soft Print Drysole footbed not only provides soft cushioning, comfort and support but also helps to wick away any moisture as well. Every pair of Meindl Borneo 2 MFS Mens Hiking Boots features outsoles made by Vibram with Meindl Multigriff so you can rely on them to keep you gripped to difficult terrain while also aiding braking power.
Gore-Tex are the makers of the well known waterproof and breathable membrane which is added to outdoor clothing, footwear and equipment in order to achieve high levels of weather protection and performance when it's most needed.
Leather is a durable and hardwearing but also an elegant and flexible material. It is a natural product, so it breathes which means it is extremely comfortable footwear. It can be moulded, split, shaped and finished into numerous textures and patterns.
Vibram are the world leaders in high performance rubber soles. Vibram outsoles are world renowned for their performance, durability, safety, innovation and design.
B0 Boots and shoes are not crampon compatible. Intended for walking and trekking, whether in the hills or at low level; these are the ideal boots for 3-season comfort here in the UK. For winter mountain walking and mountaineering, a crampon-compatible boot (B1+) is better suited.
The Meindl Memory Foam System (MFS) ensures a custom feel fit on every item of footwear. As the foam becomes warmer it moulds perfectly to the shape of the foot meaning a better fit.

I bought these boots as I prefer the German/ Austrian slightly larger width compared to Italian boots. Very good quality and walked 12 miles in the boots straight out of the box without problems. Great service and delivery from Webtogs.

I am an (almost) daily country walker, after or before work and on weekends too. These are my second pair of Meindl boots, so I've put my money where my mouth is! The fit and comfort is superb straight from the box. I had a bit of a problem with the other pair (Goretex lined) when the folded tongue dug into my foot every time, needing a bit of surgery (on the tongue!) to cure it. No such problem with the Borneo though. I've waxed them up with Meindle Sportwax, so bring on the weather and the kilometers!

Meindl are one of the few companies that produce an all leather boot without a memebrane which I like as this improves breathability. Membranes only work for a short time then leave your feet smelly and uncomfortable while good waxing is the only way to make your boot waterproof. I am still unsure as to whether I can get these boots completely waterproof. Fabric boots just can't cope with the Scottish terrain.

These boots are a pleasure to own, they are so well made from high quality materials. They are comfortable from the start, and provide good support. They are more expensive than say Scarpa, but I wanted a boot without a waterproof membrane, as I don't mind proofing my boots and use them a lot in hot countries.

27 June 2014

These boots feel really light and comfortable although in reality they are solid and fairly heavy. They also make you feel quite tall too! Great for either fellwalking or sitting at a football match.

27 June 2014

This is an expensive boot, though excellent value here at webtogs. The boot is however worth every penny and I most certainly recommend it as superior to cheaper alternatives. Only a pity that it is generally so hard to find the winter range of Meindl boots on sale in the UK.

I bought these boots for my husband for Christmas this year. He's wanted some for quite some time as he bought some for me a couple of years ago. We walk a lot - needless to say he was absolutely delighted with them and has been for several walks already. He says they are the best boots he's ever had. Comfortable, warm and waterproof. Highly recommended. I ordered them a few days before Christmas and they arrived on time - fabulous service.

I had looked at a couple of other makes of boots and the quality of these boots were much better by far.Really pleased with my purchase.Webtogs provided a great service, arrived very quick and well packaged, will definately shop with them again, thanks

A luxurious boot, the Borneo Pro MFS has great leather padding on the inside, right up to the memory foam ankle cuffs. Stiff soles and heel section help to give good support over uneven terrain and the Vibram soles aid confidence with good levels of grip, although they did clog a little on some particularly sticky Cornish mud. The rubber rand helps to avoid most scuffing. Toe box has plenty of space for wiggling toes. A good all-round boot that should last a long time.

As a regular walker in the Yorkshire Dales I was looking for a boot with breath ability, good support, grip and all day comfort. Water proofing was also important but I wasn't too keen on a membrane. I read numerous reviews which suggested the Meindl Borneo, non Gore Tex boot remained water tight if it was kept well waxed, so I plumped for them. I'm now several years and many many miles down the road with mine and can confirm that they fulfilled my requirements brilliantly. I found them slightly firm but still comfortable to start with and was able to walk distance in them straight away with no breaking in period. With regular waxing they have never let a drop of water in. Mine are now past their best but have given such good service I will be buying the same again. I found the sizing to be correct for my size 9 feet, but Our Lass finds the toe box on her size 6's a tad close and may go up half a size with her next pair. In conclusion, excellent boots.

27 June 2014

Out of the box these boots are very comfortable! I can't imagine how good they will feel after breaking in. I've worn them on 90 degree days already and find them to be warm but certainly not uncomfortable. I'm sure they will be a long time favorite !!

Ordered a pair of Meindl hiking boots that had a shipping and handling fee stated of $14.13 separately as included in the price. A small window popped up just before completion of order warned that "additional fees MAY OR MAY NOT be owing upon arrival". Assuming that referred to our 12% sales tax I was okay with $32 on a $270 purchase. Well when I went to get them at the post office there was $81 owing!! What a misleading bunch of BS that they act like they don't know whether additional fees will be owing...that can be the case when someone ships directly to you from another country as the tax authorities may or may not follow up for taxes/duties owing however Webtogs first ships to an importing company that then forwards it to you and the importer slaps on whatever levies they feel they can get away with. No documentation explaining the $81 from the importer and no explanation of the amount from Webtogs when I called them simply that if I don't pickup the parcel I won't be able to return it and there's no refunds on these fees. For them to be shipping to Canada every day through a professional importer their order system should be able to automatically tell you that FOR SURE you will be paying extra fees and exactly what they will be. Our duties aren’t changing daily it’s a fixed rate year in and year out on hiking footwear. That would be like ordering from Amazon and simply being told we're not sure what delivery fees you will have to pay but you'll find out at the post office. Totally unprofessional operation and will never order again from them. Highly doubt that an organization like this will have the integrity to post this so I'll post it to all the other online reviews sites as well.
