Montane Terra Alpine Shorts are a stretchy and rugged technical mountain short, designed to cope with the rigours of hiking and climbing in the mountains. Constructed from Montane Granite Stretch fabric, these shorts contain a blend of nylon and spandex fibres to provide both 4-way stretch and impressive abrasion resistance. The Terra Alpine Shorts also have double-stitched seams throughout to enhance their tear resistance, and an active cut with a high lift crotch for complete lower body mobility. The Montane Terra Alpine Shorts come with a webbing belt, two zipped hand pockets, and a pull-out zipped security pocket for keys and other valuables. They also feature a mesh-lined left thigh pocket.

Abrasion Resistant garments are constructed from highly durable high-denier fabrics, designed for use in challenging conditions where garments are exposed to high levels of scuffing, scratching or rubbing. These garments will hold up to abrasion from rock, ice and sharp outdoor equipment better than those made from thinner, lighter materials.
Stretch garments are constructed from fabrics that allow varying degrees of stretch, providing additional freedom of movement. Useful in highly mobile pursuits where movement must not be inhibited.
Made partly or entirely from man-made or synthetic materials. These enables the manufacturer to select materials to suit the objectives of their product, for example to achieve light weight, high breathability, or abrasion resistance.
Granite Stretch has a tough nylon outer weave which adds abrasion resistance. It has a soft inner weave for comfort and a DWR finish stops moisture penetration.
Articulated: products which have articulated sleeves or knees simply mean that the construction of a joint has been manufactured to fit the natural ergonomics of your body therefore increasing the range of movement and flexibility.
DWR. Durable Water Repellent, is a coating added to fabrics to help add to their water repellency and shed water and snow more effectively.
YKK Zips are used for their robustness and exceptional quality. YKK uses locking teeth to create a barrier between you and the elements.

Great Short, slightly heavier than the lightweight shorts.
Belt fits nicely and button section on shorts is great.
Great for climbing or trekking.
These are my new favourite shorts with the 3 zippered pockets.

I have previously purchased some Montane Terra trousers and being extremely satisfied it was not difficult choosing these Montane Terra Alpine shorts. They are of high quality and very well made, they are functional and extremely comfortable. They are not baggy but a slim fit, but being made from stretchy material, offer a perfect fit. The two main pockets, the right one has a small security pocket inside, and a third on the lower part of the left leg have angled access which works very well when in use. I have searched the internet for the "perfect sporty outdoor" shorts and these fit the bill brilliantly. I would highlt recommend.
