Lightweight products feature lightweight materials and constructions to reduce the user’s load and aid mobility. CoolMax is a technical synthetic fabric developed in 1986 to aid moisture removal during sport. Using grooved polyester fibres that wick moisture away from the skin through capilliary action, it then disperses it over a wide surface area to accelerate evaporation. This in turn aids cooling to increase personal comfort – hence the CoolMax name.
